Fat Loss Program – Barbell To Bikini

I am too young to be this unhealthy’.

This is what I said to myself as stood in front of a mirror in July of 2014. What had happened to me? I am 5′ 4″ and was nearly 170lbs at 24 years old. I was overweight, out of shape and sad that the body I stood there looking at didn’t look like me. How could I get married as a figure that didn’t represent who I was as a person? I decided right there that it was time to make a change.

I had a membership to a big box gym, and even when I went to work out I felt disconnected and unproductive. Something about being surrounded by machines, where no one talked to each other and just plugged into their phones or the over head TVs failed to motivate me. I would leave sweaty and red in the face, but without that feeling of accomplishment at the end of a good workout. I needed help and decided to search for it.

I signed up for an intro session at Crossfit Fuse on August 1st, and Coach Karen was there to take me through the baseline test. I made it, but only barely and I nearly lost my lunch. Despite the fact that I was out of breath, embarrassed, and covered in sweat, Karen made me feel comfortable. She was there next to me the entire time sharing words of encouragement and helping me push myself without overdoing it. I joined as a member that day because I knew that that was the change I needed to make.

I was thrilled when the Barbell to Bikini program was announced not long after joining. It seemed like exactly what I was looking for, and it has turned out to be so much more. Karen takes the time to carefully craft your personal goals with you. She focuses on realistic, attainable goals that are specific to your wants and needs. For me, those goals included losing fat, building core strength and improving my diet and exercise routine. I wanted to fit into a wedding dress and feel GOOD about my body. From helping plan meals, workouts and ‘homework’ assignments, not only does this program change your physical appearance but it changes your lifestyle.

In the few short months since becoming a member of Fuse and starting the B2B program, I have lost 28.5 lbs and over 14 inches off of my body. What I have gained is even better – a Coach who genuinely wants to see me succeed, a community of people and friends who care about each other and supports one another in their goals, and the tools and tricks to maintain an active, heathy lifestyle for myself and my family.

  • 12 workouts per month plus cardio homework programming – video guidance given on the workouts.
  • Invitation to Small Group meetings @ Fuse once per month – sharing ideas, successes, issues – a support group of sorts
  • A CrossFit style workout after each monthly group meeting at CrossFit Fuse

  • 1 x per week nutritional review – input/commentary/change suggestions

Silver Level – $199 + tax per Month (for those living further out)

WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM YOU!

  • 100% honesty/transparency at all times.
  • Statement about why we should accept you into the program – Ex. goals, intention, commitment.
  • Before/after pictures and measurements
  • Weekly email check ins – scale numbers, confirmation of number of workouts attended and any homework done, goal for the week ahead.
  • Email once a month with measurements
  • Set Up and Access to your myfitnesspal accounts – diary
  • Agreement to use testimonials, pictures, stats etc (inches and lbs lost, not raw data)
